English Language Arts:

Use the reading below to help you answer the following questions:

Olivia: “I ended up not seeing Miranda until the first day of school. Miranda looked so different: her hair was cut in this bob that she'd dyed bright pink, and she was wearing a striped tube top that (a) seemed way inappropriate for school, and (b) was totally not her usual style. But it wasn't just the way she looked that was different: she was acting differently, too. It was the weirdest thing. I told my dad Miranda was acting like a jerk.”

Miranda: I hardly saw Via at school, and when I did it was awkward. It felt like she was judging me. I knew she didn't like my new look. I knew she didn't like my group of friends. We never actually argued: we just drifted away. I badmouthed her. I knew we were being mean, but it was easier to ice her out if we pretended she had done something to us.
